What happens to the timber
On rural jobs the timber is worth having a conversation about before we start, because it changes how the tree gets cut up. In the suburbs almost everything is chipped and carted. Out here you have real options, and they affect the price.
We can cut to firewood lengths and stack on site, which reduces cartage and gives you a few seasons of fuel — gum and macrocarpa both burn well once properly dried, though gum needs a long season. We can leave logs in millable lengths if you have a portable mill coming or a use for the timber. Or we can windrow material for later burning where that is permitted, which is often the cheapest option on a large clearing job.
Each of those needs deciding up front. A stem cut into 400mm rounds cannot then be milled, and a log left at four metres is no use to anyone stacking firewood. Tell us what you want at quoting stage and we will cut to suit — it costs nothing extra and it saves handling the same timber twice.
