Tree Removal Across the Auckland Region
Central, North Shore, west, east and south — through to Pukekohe and the Franklin district. Pick your suburb for local detail on terrain, species and access.
Auckland is not one place
Why the suburb genuinely matters
Tree work in Auckland changes completely depending on which part of the city you are in, and it is not marketing to say so. A removal in Titirangi means steep bush, kauri dieback hygiene and material carried up a flight of steps. The same tree in Massey can often just be felled into open ground.
The species differ too. Coastal Takapuna and Howick are dominated by pōhutukawa and Norfolk pine, much of it protected. Remuera and Epsom carry century-old oaks and liquidambars on scheduled properties. Out in Pukekohe it is shelterbelts of pine and macrocarpa.
And the planning rules vary by property, not by postcode — which is why we check scheduling and overlays before quoting any established tree, wherever it is.
Central Auckland
Tight sections, villa-era access, heritage and special character overlays, and a high concentration of scheduled notable trees. Almost all removals here are sectional.
Also covering Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Parnell, Newmarket, Mt Albert, Sandringham, Ellerslie, Greenlane, Grafton and Freemans Bay.
North Shore
Coastal exposure, salt wind, protected pōhutukawa on the reserve edges, and steep harbour-facing sections where material has to be carried uphill.
Also covering Devonport, Milford, Northcote, Beach Haven, Torbay, Mairangi Bay, Rothesay Bay, Sunnynook, Forrest Hill, Greenhithe and Paremoremo.
West Auckland
Waitākere bush, kauri dieback hygiene, Significant Ecological Area overlays, and large open sections carrying fast-growing gums and wattles.
Also covering Glen Eden, Green Bay, Blockhouse Bay, Kelston, Te Atatū, West Harbour, Hobsonville, Ranui, Swanson and Waitākere.
East Auckland
Coastal easterlies, established gardens with pools and paving underneath, and newer subdivisions where landscape planting has outgrown small sections.
Also covering Bucklands Beach, Half Moon Bay, Highland Park, Dannemora, Golflands, Cockle Bay, Mellons Bay, Beachlands and Whitford.
South Auckland & Franklin
Flat, open, accessible sections where felling is often possible, plus commercial sites, shelterbelts and semi-rural blocks out toward the Hunua and Franklin.
Also covering Ōtara, Māngere Bridge, Favona, Weymouth, Manurewa, Clendon, Drury, Karaka, Waiuku, Tuakau and Bombay.
